The prime series is basically a mppt pcu kt that extracts all the available energy from solar panel. all you have to do it is to install Smarten's mppt charge controller with your existing inverter and solar panel . It is a 30 amps mppt charge controller that connects with single (12 v), and double (24v) batteries.

  • supports Up to 500 watts of solar panel with single battery and 1,000 watts of panel if it is a two battery system (24V)
  • works with 12 and 24 volt battery system
  • LCD display with 30% more power generation

MPPT advantage:

Generally, on a PWM type charge controller, if you are having single battery system (12 V), it is recommend, to connect a single module of more than 180 watt / 20 Volt panel

Initial teething trouble with Smarten 30A 12-24V MPPT Solar Charge Controller

OK. The Solar Charge Controller did not work after installation. Did not work = (a) No Menu Display (b) Single error message displayed "HIGH PV SHUTDOWN VOLTAGE" even during the night and (c) beeping 10 times every hour. Loom Solar was sorry and said I should give him 2 or 3 days to resolve the problem with Smarten (who are located in Gurgaon). The toll free number of Smarten connected after three tries and I was told to get in touch with Veerender since it was a technical issue. Two days later, Smarten sent a Service Person who replaced the main unit card (that is like having a brain transplant, for a Solar Charge Controller). After that it seems to be working. I must mention that I received no call-back or update from Loom Solar in all this time but Smarten responded. In the last two days, I see a saving of 2 Units (which means that in the last two days, I have saved about Rs 11 in my electric utility bills). End of the month, if it remains sunny, my bill should be reduced by Rs 330 or so. I should recover the Rs.25000 I spent in about 6 to 7 years.
