Mizoram is a northeast state of India, bordering Myanmar, Bangladesh and the Indian states Assam and Manipur. It was formerly part of Assam until it became a union territory in 1972 and a state in 1987. It has a moderate climate and receives abundant rainfall. It is covered by dense evergreen forests that are home to many wildlife species. It is known for its traditions, especially the Cheraw dance and the bamboo industry. The main tourist spot of Mizoram is Aizawal, the land of incredible waterfalls, hill stations, lakes, and rivers.
